Western Sydney Airport’s chief executive gave an update on plans for the terminals, promising it would be “an airport for everyone”.

Construction of Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton) at Badgerys Creek has passed the halfway point as they aim to provide a “seamless and reliable” experience for around 10 million passengers when they launch the terminal in 2026.

“This airport will be Australia’s most unique and exciting experience, providing a seamless, seamless connection from Sydney to the world,” Western Sydney Airport CEO Simon Hickey told local press.

“We have only one opportunity to build an airport from the ground up with emerging technologies and sustainability at the forefront of consideration.”

Mr Hickey acknowledged the input of thousands of Australians elected as part of the Western Sydney International Committee to contribute to the design and layout of the terminals, with the hope of meeting current passenger needs from their airport experience.

“This will be an airport for everyone, designed from the ground up for our customers and for our customers,” Mr Hickey said.

“Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton) will set a new standard for what Australians will expect when they fly and input from WSI Board members has helped bring that to life.”
