BRISBANE

For a prime location in Queensland’s sunny capital, look no further than the “majestic” suburb of Seven Hills, according to real estate agent Hayley Van de Ven from RE/MAX Results.

Located about 5km east of the CBD, the steep streets of Seven Hills – so named because of its topography, with the hills taking their name from the Seven Hills of Rome – are dotted with characterful homes, including post-war bungalows, and breathtaking views and Queenslanders.

But the “hidden” suburb’s main attraction is the Seven Hills Reserve, a 52ha oasis in the middle of Brisbane’s suburbs that is ideal for young families to cycle, bushwalk and koala-watch, Ms Van de Ven said.

For those wanting to be closer to the water, she recommends neighboring Morningside, a suburb on the picturesque Brisbane River about 4km from the CBD.

With an average house price of AUD 1.23 million, it is slightly more affordable than Seven Hills, where the average house price is AUD 1.455 million and buyers “can still find a great block and enjoy the Australian Dream of a backyard”.

Morningside’s transport links with the rest of Brisbane and easy access to the Gateway Expressway make it convenient for commuters, she added. Morningside and Seven Hills are the best properties in Brisbane. “These two suburbs offer the best.”
