Interesting fact

Powerhouse Parramatta is one of the largest complex architectural and structural engineering projects currently underway in Australia.

This is one of the first projects in Australia to use 100% renewable diesel in a tower crane, allowing for fossil-free construction.

The museum is designed so that the superstructure is a prominent architectural feature used to highlight the building’s facade. The buildings are designed with three types of steel mesh as a skeleton for the buildings.

There will be 7 large-scale exhibition spaces for the Powerhouse collection. With its monumental scale, Exhibition Space 1 will be Australia’s largest column-free exhibition space.

Powerhouse Parramatta will house Powerlab, a co-working space that brings together staff, researchers, industry, partners, students and members of the Powerhouse community into one hybrid workspace.

Lang Walker Family Academy will provide world-class immersive STEM education experiences to more than 10,000 high school students from Western Sydney and regional NSW each year, including overnight stays at the museum.
