MAP: After the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Australian real estate prices increased. Will history repeat itself after the 2032 Summer Olympics held in Brisbane, Queensland.
The 2000 Sydney Olympics is the sports playground that most clearly demonstrates the spirit and strength of Australia. More than twenty years on, the Olympic Park area and some areas in Sydney have undergone rapid change.

High-rise apartment projects spring up continuously on sports complexes, surrounding suburbs such as Rhodes and Wentworth Point become the most densely populated places in the country. Newington, the location of the athletes’ village, is no exception, being an area sought after by Australian real estate investors.
Along with the above changes, housing prices also skyrocketed. The average price of a house in Newington was AUD 410,000 in 2000 but has increased to AUD 1.34 million (according to realestate.com.au data).
This raises the question, will the Summer Olympics held in Brisbane in 2032 cause this history to repeat itself? Especially when the Australian government is preparing to invest 5 billion USD to develop and renovate infrastructure in preparation for this hosting period.
