Present at the press conference, Ms. King also agreed with this point of view and thanked Singapore Airlines for trusting in choosing Western Sydney. At the same time, the construction progress of the project was announced to activate the roadmap to open the route in 2026.

Besides Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines are the next two airlines in the negotiation process. Negotiations with other countries take place within the framework of bilateral agreements, of which Western Sydney International Airport is an important part of the agreements.
This news brings a big boost to the regional economy in general and the $5.3 billion project in particular.
Previous agreements with Qantas and Jetstar to operate domestic flights from the new airport were also signed.
Western Sydney Airport is expected to serve 10 million passengers per year at Badgerys Creek, expanding to 80 million passengers per year by 2060.
Currently, the works are about 85% completed and are on track to open by the end of 2026. When completed, this area will be twice the size of Sydney Kingsford airport.
